Wars - Napoleonic Wars - 1803-1815
The Napoleonic Wars were a series of five European conflicts between France and different coalitions of European allies. The Wars were wrapped up in the aftermath of the French Revolutionary Wars, French Republicanism, Napoleon's desire for imperial rule and expansion of French territories, and European rivalries that had lasted for centuries - especially between France and Britain. This series of wars lasted from 1803 to 1815, when Napoleon was finally deposed. This Global War included the United States, as the War of 1812 against the British was the direct result of Britain's war with Napoleon and their economic warfare, U.S. naval ship and sailor impressment into the British Navy, and embargos to keep the United States from trading with France and their allies.
