Upshur, Littleton, 1783-1832
Born at Vaucluse, Col. Littleton Upshur attended Princeton and was the son of Littleton Upshur and Ann Parker Upshur. He married Mary Vaughn Wilson in 1810, and they raised their twelve children at Pear Plain. They enslaved 30-31 people in their household. He served as a Captain in the 27th Regiment of Virginia Militia during the War of 1812. He represented Northampton County for several years in both the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate.
