New York, Wednesday 13th July 1814
My dear Son,
I did not write you from Albany because I said all to Francis which was necessary. I alluded to the business of your horses and I found that Mr. Bear has disposed of the 30 Dr I had made you a statement p Francis; I then paid for the Carriage and horses and took the Mans receipt in full which I have declared to Mr. Talbot who will attend to your Cloths Viz. Cassimere Pantaloons and vest (which you had chaned for this silk). I expect they will be put on board of the Steamboat Tomorrow and addressed to the Capita1 of the Cashier of the State bank at Albany in whom Mr. T. has confidence
to be sent to you at the San Souci Balston.
We got in good time for the boat and reached her about 7 of this morning. Very Well every way, and everyone, your parents and family very well. Henrietta appears quite reconciled and I have taken some care to establish her in her contentment, on my arrival at P. I shall write to you with a lively hope of often hearing of your welfare, and finally the establishment of your health, for which I shall trust to the good of Providence through your own care and faith.
I hope to sleep at Princeton to night and dine at home Tomorrow. I shall be off by half past ten being now packed up
