Bowdoin, Severn Eyre, 1811-1889

Severn Eyre Bowdoin, Sr. was born on May 1, 1811, in Northampton, Virginia, to Peter Bowdoin and Leah Teackle. He married Laura Ann Eyre Upshur on April 21, 1834, and together they had ten children. He was involved in several legal disputes throughout his life as a gentleman farmer. He died on September 7, 1889, and is buried with his wife at Christ Episcopal Church Cemetery in Eastville, Northampton County, Virginia.
