Campbell, John Hamilton, 1805-1831
John Hamilton Campbell was the second son of Andrew Donaldson Campbell and Jane Hamilton. He was likely born in Cumberland on July 25, 1805. He moved to Ontario, Canada to escape the stigma of his illegitimate birth and begin anew, with his younger brothers, James and Andrew. He died on September 10, 1831, and is buried in McDowall Memorial Cemetery in Sandhurst, Ontario, Canada, near his brothers.
