Campbell, James Hamilton, ca. 1807-1855
James Hamilton Campbell was the third son of Andrew Donaldson Campbell and Jane Hamilton. He was born around 1807, likely in Cumberland. He moved to Ontario, Canada to escape the stigma of his illegitimate birth and begin anew, with his brothers, John and Andrew. He married Alison Wilson, who died at the age of 28. They had two children, Andrew Donaldson Campbell and Alison Wilson Campbell. Both James and Andrew are named in the will of Andrew Donaldson Campbell, their father. James died in September of 1855 and is buried in McDowall Memorial Cemetery in Sandhurst, Ontario, Canada, near his brothers.
