Selby, Parker, 1775-1854

Parker Selby (not to be confused with Selby Parker) was born on June 23, 1776, in Worcester, Maryland to Zadock Selby Sr. and Tabitha Truitt. He married Atalanta (family name unknown) on December 14, 1803. Together they had at least three children who lived to adulthood. He was a slave owner and had one of his enslaved arrested for “outraging the person of the daughter of Mr. B. Holston, aged 9 years.” He died at the age of 78 on May 9, 1854, at his residence near Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland and was buried in Snow Hill at All Hallows Cemetery.
