Merchants - Peter Hoffman & Son

Peter Hoffman & Son was a mercantile firm with premises at 153 Baltimore Street. Peter Hoffman Sr. (1742-1809), was born in Frankfurt am Main, and established a dry goods business with his son Peter. He later had offices in London, and became one of Baltimore's leading merchants. His son David Hoffman was a noted legal scholar who taught at the University of Maryland.
