Mythology - Greek - Phaon
Phaon was a boatman from the Isle of Lesbos who was old, ugly, and deformed. Aphrodite came to his boat disguised as an old crone and begged a ride across the strait to Asia Minor. He gave her passage and did not charge her, so she gifted him with an ointment that she told him to use on his body before sleeping that night. When he woke the next morning, he had been transformed into a young and beautiful man that everyone fell in love with.
