Tullia Minor
Tullia Minor was the younger daughter of Servius Tullius, the sixth king of the Romans. She was originally married to Arruns Tarquinius, the mild-mannered, kind, younger brother of Lucius Tarquinius Superbus, who was married to Tullia Minor’s older sister, Tullia Maior. She conspired with her brother-in-law to murder both her husband and her sister, after which the two of them married. Then, they plotted together to take the throne from Servius Tullius and kill him. After seeing her father’s dead body in the street, Livy states that she ran her cart over his body, carrying his blood, and therefore his curse, with her to her husband’s house and defiled their household gods, and ensured that their reign as king and queen would not be easy or long.
