My beloved Elizabeth will excuse me if this letter is short and sweet, as I have written, from a necessary attention to my frds. two long letters at the present sitting, and as I have not neglected you of late my dear, you will pardon my brevity; particularly as I have just receiv’d a very, very short letter from you. I thank you for it however.
I am all expectation of your father's return with a budget of news about you. Tomorrow I send for him to Easton.
I shall write you a big letter by next mail in the meantime.
I am your mother with all a mother's love
