Eyre Hall July 9th 1834 (Wednesday)
My dear husband,
On Monday I received your’s of the 30th ulto. from Washington. On the same day I caused a letter to be mailed to you at Washington, and I, also, wrote by Mr. Pouson on Sunday, the day before, who is going to Baltimore direct. I paid the postage of that address to Washington. I now write again, to obviate any difficulty, in case these letters may have missed you, and have only to say that our intention is to be in Baltimore on Thursday the 17th inst. I believe the Steamboat from Norfolk to that city arrives in the morning about 10:00 o'clock. We hope to see you on our arrival at the Wharf in health and happiness.
I wrote to you that our cousin Mr. St. George Teackle, would be our escort. It is probable, also, that Mrs. Susan Parker will accompany us.
I address this, according to your request, to Baltimore. I thank you for attending to my suggestion in regard to a back room. It would have been a very noisy location, if had been in front.
Elizabeth sends her love with mine to you, and in expectation of hearing from you as you intimate, from Baltimore, and of seeing you soon thereafter. We continually offer our prayers for you and for our reunion at the appointed time in health and happiness.
Ever affectionately your wife
