Washington 22d April 1806
Dear Charles
I wrote you from Anapolis last Sunday and promised to advise you on my getting here, as I then suggested. I left A. on Tuesday morning after an unpleasant Journey I got here at 5 P.M. (yesterday) very well. This day has been spent seeing some acquaintances and a circuitious wride about Geo. Town and this City. The day after Tomorrow I contemplate visiting Alexandria and hope that the fore part of the ensuing week to leave here for Baltimore where I shall remain a day or two and then take the Stage for Philadelphia and stay a few days with you. Littleton and Betsy are here, they as well as their Child are well. It was intended to leave Elizabeth with her Gradmother but the hooping cough in the family forbit it.
I presume S. Lipencott has got to Phile. and that Colo Cropper's Scooner with the Brandy I mentioned to you in my last asking your attention to have stored till I got there. If those Vessells have arrived I should like to know it and as well when S. Lipincott expected to get back
