I have just receiv’d your letter giving an account of the terrible proceedings of the enemy at Havre de Grace. I think we ought to be thankful that you escaped with a whole skin. It was dreadful!

Mr. and Mrs. Eyre are here and arrived without accident. Mr. E. waits for his gig to come up when he will return home and leave Mrs. E. with me.

I have only time to say that all of us are as well as usual, as the mail may leave town before my letter goes. I wrote you per last mail.
